How Home at Number Twenty Two Started

Hi, I'm Emma, Owner and Founder of Home at Number Twenty Two!

I've always loved Interior Design. My Mum and Dad renovated many of our homes growing up and I loved seeing these being transformed from tired, dull spaces, to homes full of light, space, and warmth. My Grandma is also incredibly talented and artistic. She spent hours teaching me how to use a sewing machine, showing me her paintings, and making many crafts.

I went to a candle-making class and loved the process of creating something beautiful and useful by hand. I started making Candles for family and friends and loved seeing them enjoy my products in their homes. This is where Home at Number Twenty-Two started! I learned how to make Wax Melts, Reed Diffusers, Macrame Wall Hangings, and a variety of products using Jesmonite.

Currently, I'm just selling Reed Diffusers and Pillar Candles as I have a little boy who keeps me very busy :) But aiming to add Jesmonite Trinket Trays, Jesmonite Soap Dishes, Jesmonite Pen Pots and beautiful new designs of Pillar Candles, along with other home decor pieces very soon. Everything in our collection is handpoured and handmade from my home in London.

Our Commitment to Sustainability

At Home at Number Twenty Two, we believe that beautiful home fragrance and decor shouldn't come at the planet's expense. That's why sustainability is at the heart of what we do.

We carefully source our materials from trusted UK Suppliers, such as Nikura for essential oils, and Candle Shack and Supplies for Candles for our candles and reed diffuser components. Our reed diffusers are made with Augeo - a non-toxic, eco-friendly base known for it's clean performance and environmental impact.

We will be handcrafting Trinket Trays, Soap Dishes and Pen Pots using Jesmonite, a water-based, low-VOC material, and our candles are made with a natural blend of coconut and rapeseed wax, which is biodegradable, vegan-friendly, and clean-burning.

To reduce waste, our reed diffusers currently come without display boxes, and we package orders using honeycomb kraft paper, natural shredded paper, and just a minimal amount of bubble wrap to keep everything protected in transit. In the future, we may look at display or gift boxes, however, rest assured these will be chosen for their eco-friendly credentials. 

Every detail, from our materials to our packaging, is chosen with care - so you can enjoy handmade, thoughtfully crafted products that feel good in every sense.
