Make the most out of your Reed Diffusers with our Top Tips!

There are many factors that can influence how long a Reed Diffuser will last. • High Quality – it goes without saying that the higher quality materials used to make your diffuser, than the stronger the fragrance will be and the longer it will last. At Home at Number Twenty Two we use Augeo diffuser base. This is non-toxic, eco friendly and made from a renewable source. It has a low evaporation rate making your diffuser last longer. It also has a low odour so it won’t take away from the scent from the fragrance oil. The premium fragrance oils we use are cruelty-free and offer a strong scent throw, meaning the fragrance disperses well throughout a space.
• Optimal placement – it’s best to place your reed diffuser away from any drafts, direct sunlight and heat sources. This will help to prevent it from drying out quickly. When the air circulation is at it’s optimum the fragrance will be evenly distributed.
• Look after your Reeds - the more reeds you have in your diffuser, the faster they will disperse the fragrance. Consider reducing the number of reed sticks to help slow down the fragrance release. Your reeds should also be flipped every couple of weeks. This will help to refresh the scent and prevent dust build-up. As dust will impact how effective the reeds are, you can use a soft cloth or paper towel to gently wipe the reeds to remove any build-up.
• Room size – everybody has a difference preference on how strong they would like their diffuser to smell. While some prefer a more subtle fragrance, others like to instantly smell the diffuser as soon as they walk into a space. The size of the room will have an impact on how strong the fragrance is, along with the intensity of the individual fragrance as they have all different qualities. For a larger room, we recommend using two reed diffusers. This will help to maintain a consistent fragrance throughout the whole space.
